 Dog Man Grime and Punishment 

     Dog Man Grime and Punishment by Dav Pilkey describes the hard and descriptive tale of Dog Man. To begin you meet Dog Man, Petey, and little Petey. Dogman is called to celebrate his chief but when he comes all gross and muddy this is because he was in the mayor's flowers. So Dogman is fired and little Petey comes up with a way to avoid Dogman getting fired. While this is happening Petey's dad breaks out of jail and goes on a robbery spree. As Dogman gets his job back his disguise falls off and he is discovered by the mayor. Although it doesn't matter because Dogman has to save his city.   

    this book is hilarious short and futuristic. Now why this book is funny is pretty obvious it's just about characters who would never exist like little Petey who is very smart at a young age. Dog Man Grime and Punishment is very short and easy to read but is still fun for most ages. Lastly, this book is futuristic because things like a helmet that makes you stronger do not exist. That is why I think this book is great for all ages and I really enjoyed reading it.

 Peter and the Star Catchers 

    Peter and the Star Catchers a fantasy by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson describes the eventful travel experience of 5 orphans and a not-so-normal family. To begin the orphans are introduced as they are being boarded onto a boat to be servants in a different land and while being boarded they see a crew member being affected by some sort of magic. Peter who did not want to be on this ship for four months so decided to sneak off or so he thought he was met by a guard who did not allow Peter to leave. the orphans are shown their room and when Peter sneaks off to discover this trunk he learns more information about what's happening. He meets Molly, who he had seen on the deck, down below and while he asks for more she tells him everything so when the pirates come Peter is ready to risk it all for the trunk.

    While I did not finish this book it is very imaginary and funny to read. But this book is also twisted with many different stories. Although starting with funny there is so much detail and it makes the book feel like nonfiction. But at the same time, it is very easy to picture because it is not an ordinary book the pictures in your head seem so much clearer. And last all the different stories from crew captains and even pirates this book describes every character and does not add one in the middle of the book all of the characters are introduced at the beginning. That's why this book is great and enjoyed listening to it with my class.

 Dog Tags Prisoners of War

    Dog Tags Prisoners of War a book by Alexander London describes the survivor of an attack by Germans and how he finds peace with a Nazi war dog. To begin you meet the main character Miguel who is in a foxhole with his squad during ww2. Miguel wanted to be the best medic he could be but when the Germans come he stands in his foxhole in complete shock. But he gets knocked out and survives the attack and wakes up to being at the face of a German war dog. Then he befriends the dog and goes to chase his squad and ends up in a Nazi-controlled village. So he followed the nazi soldiers because he thinks they have captured his squad. 

I love this book because it takes so much effort to not give in and read it again. It is also so nice that this book gives you so much motivation that makes you want to go out and be the own hero of your own story. this book is also hard to read as some of the parts are very gruesome and violent. but over all this book is great. So if you like harder-to-read books and a hero and books I recommend reading this book.

 On The Horizon 

    On The Horizon by Lois Lowry tells the miserable stories of people who died throughout the Hiroshima bombings and the pearl harbor attack. This book is all poems of the names and stories of those who died in these events. one of the examples states that a little boy was riding his tricycle and was killed and crushed by a building due to the shock wave. Or a story of a gunner who was on the USS Arizona only 23 years of age but was killed immediately when the raid started. Last was a story of a pilot who was part of a raid that was forced to kill himself for his country.   

I find this book very hard to read and very happy at the same time. The only reason this book is sad is because reading about a ton of deaths is not your average book. But it is also great because all of these stories are heard by some across the world not just the families who lost them. Although this book is conflicting it has a great intent. Witch is to get what might be a victory for one country might be a horrendous day for another. 

 Dog Tags Semper Fido

    Dog Tags Semper Fido a book by Alexander London describes a ranger and his dog on their gripping missions. To begin we are introduced to the main character Gus who lives at home and joins the Marines. Although he was not prepared for the task at hand from being a test dummy at a school to working really hard. And most important of all dog handler training. So he pushes through and meets his dog Loki before they are both shipped to a war zone. Then after many attacks, Loki and Gus get separated from their team. 

    I love this book because it is gripping, very sad, and makes you cheer for the main character and only wish the best for him. Gripping this book is so gripping as it gives you the hard life of Gus that gives him his reasons to join the army. This connects to how sad this book is especially the end until it makes a great turnaround. And last it makes you want to know Gus and support him on his trip to being a hero for some of his squad mates. That's why this book is great that's only if you think you can handle it.

 Apocalypse Taco 

    Apocalypse Taco by Nathen Hale describes a weird but funny story of four characters living through an Apocalypse. To begin the three main characters leave their job at school to go and get food for everyone at the school preparing for the play. But no one is there and they get sucked into a warp of things that are not real. So they run away from these figures until they meet the person who has an explanation for all of this. Then they are captured and brought to be copied but by a miracle they survive. Their team decides that with the info that the college student had given them, they were going to stop him. 

This book is great for a short-time read a fun read or a read-aloud book. This is because it's a comic and does not take much time or skill to read. this book is also very funny from listening to the characters bicker to facing all their fears. This book is also great for read aloud this is caused by the amount of voice in the book. This is why I think that Apocalypse Taco is a great book.
